50 CENT GETS DEEPER INTO BOXING AS PRODUCER OF DOCUMENTARY DECEASED BOXER

50 Cent has joined with boxing legend Lou DiBella to work on the movie Tapia which takes a look at the life of the late Mexican boxer Johnny Tapia, according to Variety magazine.
The film delves deep into Tapia’s drug addiction, the murder of his mother and more from his troubled past.

50 says it was the similarities in both the boxers’ and his own life story that drew him to the project:

“His story resonated with me because like Tapia, I too lost my mother to violence and grew up with limited means. It’s a heartfelt story and it was important for me to get involved with bringing this to a broader audience.”

Tapia will be presented by DiBella’s BK Blu Productions and Jackson’s Cheetah Vision Films. It will premiere  at the Los Angeles Film Festival on June 15 followed by a second screening again on June 18.
